As the Senior SAS Developer on the Data Services Support team, this pivotal Baltimore data center role provides project leadership and SAS programming regarding the management of the Baltimore data warehouse and the ETL process of a large national data warehouse with particular focus on Base SAS and Unix platform.
Highlights of Responsibilities
Sr. SAS programmer has responsibility to provide SAS programming services to support all phases of DSC (Data Service Center) product lines and programs in a comprehensive, accurate and timely manner and manage schedules of all SAS programmers to ensure delivery of all work on schedule.
Evaluate software requirements, responsible for professional team membership in a variety of interdepartmental projects.
Technical support for the SAS in-house and field staff.
Complete all assignments in timely, accurate and complete manner.
Participate in interdepartmental meetings for new product ideas and innovations.
Assist in technology selection and operational methods.
Support the creation and maintenance of a SAS Data Warehouse on Sun Microsystems UNIX boxes, containing over 50 Terabytes of data.
Oversee the loading, preparation and quality control of Claims data.
Participate in direct telephone and in-person support to management, end-users, and SAS Team members supporting existing and new projects.
Write, edit and revise documentation for product development, support services, and customer/end-user activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree is required in Information Systems, Computer Science, Math or related field.
Eight (8) + Years SAS Programming experience.
Extensive experience in macro and object oriented programming in SAS.
Skilled professional with the ability to both lead and participate in all phases of SAS services.
Experience in large databases and manipulation of large disparate databases.
Experience in statistical programming including quality assurance documentation of work.
Ability to balance need for developing applications with the requirement for rigor and documentation.
Manage time among a variety of projects.
Must possess the ability to pass a background investigation.
Preferred Education and Experience
-Masters Degree is preferred.

-10 Years Senior SAS Experience
-SAS Certified
-Experience in healthcare data and policies
-Experience reading Cobol Copy Books
